ACBF Chimp T-RAP Patrol Uncovers Hidden Timber in Sugarcane Plantation

On December 11, 2024, our diligent Chimp T-RAP Patrol team made a remarkable discovery in the Nsozi sector, Muhangaizima Bugoma Forest. While on patrol, they stumbled upon a hidden stash of valuable timber, including Mahogany and Albizia tree species, concealed within a sugarcane plantation.

Swift action was taken as the environmental police/officers were immediately informed, and in collaboration with the National Forestry Authority (NFA), the timber was successfully impounded and transported to the Nsozi NFA station.

We extend our sincerest appreciation to the Chimp T-RAP Patrolling team for their outstanding work in protecting the Bugoma Forest. However, this incident highlights the urgent need for increased support and joint efforts to prevent deforestation and safeguard our precious forest.
