Let’s support the ongoing crackdown against illegal deforestation in Bugoma

As the Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest, and other tourism stakeholders, we strongly support the ongoing crackdown against illegal deforestation in Bugoma. The law must be enforced, and those responsible must be held accountable. Our natural heritage cannot be sacrificed for short-term gain.

Bugoma is not just a forest it is a home to wildlife, a source of livelihood for communities, and a pillar for tourism and climate resilience in Uganda.

We call upon:

• Security agencies to intensify enforcement
• Conservation partners to stand firm
• Tourism stakeholders to speak with one voice
• Communities to protect, not destroy, their natural heritage
