ACBF Bugoma Forest enters a new phase under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority.
As the Association for Conservation of Bugoma Forest, we recognize and appreciate all individuals and institutions that have continuously supported the protection of Bugoma Forest. From conservation advocates and local communities to tourism stakeholders and development partners, every contribution has mattered.
We remain hopeful that this transition will strengthen conservation, promote responsible tourism, and secure the ecological importance of Bugoma Forest for generations ahead.

Historic Turning Point for Bugoma Forest! 🌳✨
Something truly incredible is happening these days: a real escalation of positive events for Bugoma. 🌿
First, on February 23rd, 2026, the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, publicly stated the need to stop the degradation of the forest and restore the national park and Bugoma Forest. Then, on May 9th, the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, visited Bugoma Forest, further reinforcing the President’s message and confirming the takeover by UWA (Uganda Wildlife Authority). 🇺🇬
For those of us who have been supporting and pushing for this since 2015, this feels almost unbelievable. 🙏
We know the journey is still long. There will still be challenges, discussions, and important decisions to monitor carefully to ensure that commitments become real actions. But for now, we also want to take a moment to appreciate this important step forward. 💚
