ACBF ACBF invited a delegation of tourism business operators from Kikuube and Hoima, together with local leaders, inspected the boundaries of the Bugoma Forest Reserve.
This inspection followed a statement made on Monday, 16th February, by the Minister of Lands, Judith Nabakoba, directing that no fresh clearing of Bugoma Forest should take place.
However, during the inspection, the delegation discovered that deforestation is still ongoing without any apparent intervention from the responsible authorities. See pictures!
The delegation therefore appealed to those involved in the destruction of the forest to immediately halt all activities and allow tourism businesses in the area to continue operating without disruption.
